APTOS VILLAGE IMPROVEMENTS PHASE 2B

Project Update 9/25/2020

APTOS VILLAGE BUSINESSES:

All Aptos village businesses are open during construction operations.  Some may have modified operations and/or hours in accordance with current health orders.

SCHEDULE UPDATE

Anderson Pacific will resume work on the Aptos Village Phase 2B project on Monday, September 28, 2020.

·         STORM DRAIN:  Storm drain work will continue at the lower end of the system near the bridge moving east on Soquel Drive toward Aptos Creek Road.  As work progresses, the operation will move into the roadway on Soquel Dr.  Scheduled completion date for this work is by the end of October.

·         CURB, GUTTER & SIDEWALK, North Side of Soquel:  Curb, gutter & sidewalk work will continue on the north side of Soquel Dr. upon completion of the storm drain, followed by the south side of Soquel Dr.  This work may be completed by the end of October.

·         RAILROAD CROSSING:  The railroad crossing schedule is still being finalized and will be released when it becomes available.  Aptos Creek Road will be closed with detours while the railroad crossing is constructed.

The schedule is subject to change due to weather or other conditions.

TRAFFIC CONTROL

So far, the contractor’s operation has allowed two lanes of traffic to remain open much of the time.  Traffic control consisting of one lane, two-way traffic with flaggers will be required during upcoming construction phases.  Delay times could be up to fifteen minutes.  For the safety of all, please use caution when moving through the construction zone, obey all signage, and please share the road.

GENERAL

The Aptos Times published a great Q & A article about this project in their July 15, 2020 edition.  Please see link to the article on the right.

The public’s patience is appreciated during the construction process and we look forward to project completion in November 2020.  The completion date is subject to change due to weather or other conditions.
