APTOS
VILLAGE IMPROVEMENTS PHASE 2B
Project
Update 9/9/2020
APTOS VILLAGE BUSINESSES:
All Aptos village businesses are
open during construction operations.
Some may have modified operations and/or hours in accordance with
current health orders.
SCHEDULE UPDATE
The CZU Lightning Complex fires have devastated the northern
part of Santa Cruz county, including the San Lorenzo Valley and Bonny Doon
areas. In addition to the many homes and
structures that were lost, there was also extensive damage to County
infrastructure, consisting of bridges, roads, guardrail, HDPE drainage
facilities, sanitation facilities, water systems, and more. Many area contractors, Anderson Pacific being
one of them, will be making the emergency repairs necessary to re-open roads
and restore services. For this reason,
Anderson Pacific will not be working on the Aptos Village project beginning
September 8, 2020. They will return when
their emergency repair work is complete, in approximately two to four weeks. When they resume work, they will continue
with the storm drain system that was begun near the bridge. Sub-contractors may continue to work during
this time.
The schedule is subject to change due to weather or other
conditions.
TRAFFIC CONTROL
With Anderson Pacific busy on emergency repairs, traffic
will be largely unimpacted by construction activities during this time. Sub-contractor work may require intermittent
traffic control.
For the safety of all, please use caution when moving through the construction zone, obey all
signage, and please share the road.
GENERAL
The Aptos Times
published a great Q & A article about this project in their July 15, 2020
edition. Please see link to the article
on the right.
The public’s
patience is appreciated during the construction process and we look forward to project
completion in November 2020. The
completion date is subject to change due to weather or other conditions.
